New Parkinson’s Aid To Launch Soon!

Chillspill routes any food that is spilled from a fork or spoon back into the plate or bowl or retains it in the Chillspill tray. In this way food is not spilled on the floor, the table or the user’s clothing. This is a dignified solution for individuals who have tremor activity at mealtime.

Chillspill is also applicable for individuals with tremor activity due to other conditions like Essential Tremor, Multiple Sclerosis and incoordination due to ataxia. This new adaptive eating aid for Parkinson’s may also help with nutritional intake since any spilled food will be retained and can be rescooped. Chillspill eliminates the need for clothing protectors which can reduce self esteem.

As we mentioned in a previous Blog, weighted utensils are often tried to improve utensil use for tremor activity. The Chillspill can be used in conjunction with weighted utensils if needed. An increase in anxiety can increase the likelyhood of an increase in tremor activity. During mealtime particularly in a social situation, tremors and spilled food can increase anxiety and thus increase tremor activity. The Chillspill reduces the anxiety associated with utensil use … which is why we named it the Chillspill!
