ChillSpilltm, a new patent pending eating aid for Parkinson’s and essential tremor will enable individuals with tremor activity to eat soup, cereal and other foods without the worry of spilling food onto their clothing or the floor. This new assistive eating aid will help individuals with tremor activity in three ways.

1. The trough section of ChillSpill will catch any liquid or solid food that is spilled from the user’s spoon or fork and keep it in the trough section (solid foods) or route it back to the plate or bowl (liquid or semi liquid foods)

2. The left and right sides of ChillSpill will provide a surface that the wrist and forearm can slide on during plate to mouth movements, reducing tremor activity during this movement.

3. Knowing that any spilled food will not wind up on the user’s clothes or on the floor will lessen the anxiety associated with tremor activity during eating. Less anxiety means less tremor activity! ie more “Chill” = less Spill!!! ChillSpill can also work right along with other adaptive eating aids such as plate guards and weighted utensils.

Given the popularity of weighted utensils for tremor control at mealtime we anticipate a high demand for ChillSpill. We are welcoming distributor inquiries at this time. If you are a therapist in a country outside the US there is currently an entrepreneurial opportunity for you in making the ChillSpill available in your country. Please contact us for details.
