Eating Aid For ALS

Update: 6-12-2023 We have discontinued production and sales of the Panini Eatzii.

In this Blog I want to provide additional information on our new product for hands free independent eating of hamburgers (or veggie burgers!) or sandwiches. This eating aid for ALS may also provide independent eating of sandwiches for high level SCI or any condition resulting in weakness of the upper extremities. The product is called “Panini Eatzii” and is scheduled for initial launch in August of 2022. Panini is the italian word for sandwich. A photo of the Panini Eatzii prototype is located below:

How does Panini Eatzii work? The height of the sandwich holder is first adjusted for the individual user. The sandwich or burger is then placed on the holder. It is held in place by small projections that extend up from three holding arms. The arms extend two inches beyond the edges of the sandwich. The user eats part of the burger that is located between two of the arms. Once this section is finished the user employs head movment to rotate the holder around to line up the second section. Once this section is completed the user again employs head movement to line up the third section. Once this section is completed the only thing left is a full, satisfied, happy stomach! The holder is easily removed from the base and is dishwasher safe for cleaning. The holder is made of FDA approved HDPE plastic. There is also an on board napkin holder!
