This will be a four part Review Of Adaptive Utensils.  In each Blog we will review one of what we have selected as 4 top adaptive utensils. We searched the web quite extensively to come up with these four adaptive utensils to review.  We are not saying that this is an exhaustive list and I am sure we have left out many useful products.  If you have a suggestion for an effective adaptive eating utensil please leave a comment after this blog or e mail us at www.canoecreek12@gmail.com.  The four that we have selected have wide applications, have unique characteristics and are readily available.  In this blog we will review the Bunmo lightweight adaptive utensils.  These are available on Amazon

Bunmo has both weighted adaptive utensils and lightweight adaptive utensils with built up grips.  I purchased the lightweight set from www.amazon.com for this review.  I was pleasantly surprised by the overall quality of their utensils.  The set includes a standard spoon and fork, a soup spoon and a knife.  The utensil portion is made of stainless steel.  The grip is built up but not so much that you can’t use a standard grip pattern (or a cylindrical grip pattern) as you can see in the photo above.  I couldn’t find any information on whether or not they contain latex but the handle feels rubbery so they probably do.

The grip has a nice feel and supplies friction control.  The knife is serrated and has a curved shape which is a nice feature for one handed use.  I was also surprised that I liked the feel of the lighter weight utensils! On the minus side, the soup spoon and regular spoon depth seems a little shallow.  They come with a nice canvas carrying case.  Overall a nice product and a viable option for individuals who could benefit from adaptive utensils.  Their rating on Amazon is @4.5 and the review comments were largely positive.  They are currently on Amazon for $22.99. Thanks for visiting!
